Retired Greyhounds Find New Homes Across Australia

More than 200 retired greyhounds across Australia were adopted over the April 28 weekend, with 68 of them finding new homes in Victoria.

The Greyhound Adoption Program said the event was held at The Meadows racecourse in Broadmeadow, Victoria, on National Adoption Day.

Greyhounds became an unpopular adoption option after ABC reported on their mistreatment in 2015. Their euthanasia rate, however, dropped the following year, according to AAP. Credit: Greyhound Adoption Program via Storyful
