Reuben Owen confirms split from co-star Sarah Dow and says 'doing her own thing'

Life in the Dales star Reuben Owen has revealed he has his split from co-star Sarah Dow. The 19-year-old confirmed they had separated but remain 'good pals'.

Reuben, who rose to fame alongside his parents and siblings on Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm, started dating Sarah in 2021 after a long friendship. They had previously been very close, with her mum sharing that their home was a 'home away from home' for Reuben.

The duo still work together on Reuben's heavy machinery business, but Reuben admitted she wasn't full time. Speaking on Thursday's episode of ITV chat show Lorraine, he said: "Me and Sarah are no longer together but we're still very good friends.

"She's doing her own thing, pursuing her own career. She does the odd day for us when she's not busy.

"We're not together anymore but we still get on well and still good pals."

Reuben also shared insights into his relationship with his parents Amanda and Owen, stating that it hasn't changed since they announced their split in 2022. Lorraine added: "It's the same as your mum and dad really, they may not be together but they're still giving you lots of advice and encouragement."

Reuben concurred: "You couldn't wish for any better parents, the whole family is very supportive of us. dad and mum both come down here and give us a hand with the machines, they always give us advice and try to keep us on the straight and narrow."

Reuben and Sarah's romance blossomed in December 2021 after a longstanding friendship, sparked through their mutual pal Tommy. Reflecting on their initial encounter during an episode of Beyond The Yorkshire Farm, Sarah shared: "I met Reuben through Tommy, actually. We just got on really well and he taught me some stuff.

"I'm planning to enrol in an engineering course at college and I reckon I can apply some of this knowledge there because I've become quite familiar with the machines now," Reuben confessed, also revealing that he was initially "terrified" of Sarah as charming girls wasn't his forte.

The couple have been documenting their relationship journey on social media, with Reuben commemorating their first anniversary in 2022 with a heartfelt post. He posted a photo of them together, captioning it: "Cheers @sarah11dow for not sacking me off yet. Been a full year."

Sarah marked the milestone by posting a mirror selfie with Reuben, simply captioning it: "1 year," followed by a heart hands emoji.

In the upcoming episode of Reuben: Life in the Dales, airing on Thursday at 8pm on Channel 5, audiences will witness Reuben, his then-girlfriend Sarah, and their mate Tommy, embarking on a journey to France.
