Reuben Owen's close relationship with girlfriend and 'home away from home'

Reuben Owen is back on TV with his very own new series tonight. The cameras are following the 20-year-old as his heavy plant machinery business enters its second year.

He rose to fame on the farming series Our Yorkshire Farm with his parents and eight siblings as the docuseries chronicled their life on Ravenseat Farm. The ex husband and wife fronted the show for five series from 2018 to 2022, but when the Owens decided to split, the Channel 5 show had to come to an end.

But Reuben: Life in The Dales will air tonight on Channel 5 at 8pm. And his girlfriend Sarah Dow will be close by his side.

She works with Reuben and his friend Tommy on the machinery business. The duo are teenage sweethearts, having started dating and sharing photos together on social media in around 2021.

Reuben has already shown he is a romatic. In an episode of spin off Beyond the Yorkshire Farm, he was seen treating his other half to a second-hand car ahead of her driving test.

Sarah has appeared in several TV shows with her boyfriend, including Our Big Yorkshire Christmas and Beyond the Yorkshire Farm. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and they regularly post up sweet snaps of them on Instagram.

During an episode of Our Yorkshire Farm, it was revealed that Reuben was "terrified" of Sarah in the beginning as he "was not a natural charmer". Sarah's told viewers: "He was afraid of Sarah and worried that he might say or do something inappropriate. Almost a different youngster, he now."

Sarah's mother also revealed how close the couple are, saying that Sarah's home serves as Reuben's "home away from home."

Reuben recently spoke publicly about his mum Amanda and dad Clive's divorce for the first time. He detailed how the former couple gathered the family together to break the news to them about the breakup.

"Yeah, they spoke about it, but it's not really a big deal between any of us," Reuben reflected. Speaking to MailOnline, he continued: "It's quite simple really. Everyone gets along great. It's not really changed for any of us, if you get me."

When asked if his parents had made sure not to impact their children with too much change, he replied: "Yes, they decided and that was that. They are happy as they are." He went on to add his seven younger siblings are "not fussed" by the divorce.

"Everyone makes it work," he went on. "Beyond that, it's not my business. All I want is for them to be happy. That is all that matters. They are happy, and that's all that counts."
