Riders Evacuated After Japanese Rollercoaster's Emergency Stop

Riders had to be evacuated from a rollercoaster at a Japanese theme park after it came to an emergency stop on Monday, April 29.

Hokkaido News, citing the Rusutsu Resort, reported that the rollercoaster came to an emergency stop while on its first climb. There were 18 people on board at the time, but no one was injured. The reason for the stop was being investigated, Hokkaido News said.

Footage by one of the rescued passengers, X user @Jb08096641, shows the Loop the Loop rollercoaster halted midway up an ascent of the ride, with a number of staff helping people off.
