Riot Police Clash With Protesters in Hong Kong Mall

Clashes broke out between anti-government protesters and riot police in Hong Kong’s Yoho Mall II on December 24. Hong Kong Police Force said officers arrived on the scene after reports of “of rioters storming and vandalizing shops in Yoho Mall II.”

This footage shows riot police running towards a crowd before they push a person against a store front and beat him with batons.

In a separate incident, a man fell from the second floor while trying to evade the police. Footage from the mall shows the man running towards police and pushing one officer to the ground.

Hong Kong Police confirmed the incident and said, “While escaping from us, the male encountered other police officers nearby who attempted to intercept him but failed. The man pushed our officer to the ground and suddenly jumped across a glass fence in an attempt to escape, and fell onto the floor on.”

The man was sent to hospital in a conscious state and was arrested for “Assaulting a Police Officer," police added.
