Rita Ora gives disappointing update on new album

Rita Ora has teased details of her next studio album, but some fans might be left disappointed.

The 33-year-old singer released new single Ask & You Shall Receive last week sparking hopes a new album will soon follow.

However, the star has admitted to The Sun that a full record could be at least six months away, explaining, "The album is going really well. I'm taking it just one song at a time to be honest.

"I'm not sure it will be ready for this year though. But the great thing about my label (BMG) is that I have the time and they are really chill like that."

Her last album, titled You & I, was released last year with tracks that took inspiration from her 2022 wedding and blossoming marriage to Hollywood director Taika Waititi, 48.

Asked if the next record will also focus on her marriage, Rita told the publication, "I'm a bit bored of that now... I want my music to move on, have fun and do what makes me feel good. If it doesn't make me feel good, I'm not doing it, and I've found that very liberating."

Rita has been releasing music since 2012, enjoying four number-one singles and with her debut record, titled Ora, also topping the UK charts.

Fans have typically had to wait years between albums with her debut released in 2012, the follow up, titled Phoenix, unleashed in 2018, and her third album finally being released last year.
