River Island announces major transformation of this Manchester store

River Island has announced a major transformation of one of its Manchester stores - and it's set to reopen this week. The fashion retailer has expanded its Arndale site and has digitally enhanced it to create a "fully integrated shopping experience" including interactive dressing rooms.

The expanded store will span an impressive 13,947 square feet and will also include brand new seamless self-checkouts.

Set to re-open on Thursday (April 25), the new space will stock a limited-edition collection of one-off, premium pieces featuring exclusive fabrics and luxury detailing.

Channelling the boho trend with detailed embroidery, lace trims and relaxed silhouettes, the 19-piece collection starts at £45 and will only be available in the Arndale store.

As part of the launch celebrations, from 25th – 28th April, the new River Island store will host in-store events and activities for shoppers including a ‘Spin the Wheel’ experiential activation, free coffees, DJs and a pop-up flower cart.

The first 50 customers who spend over £55 on each day will also receive a limited-edition tote bag.

On April 25, the store will be officially opened with a ribbon cutting by TV star Lucy Mecklenburgh at 11.30am.

The brand’s design-led womenswear clothing and accessories will also be offered alongside an expansive holiday shop collection. Menswear will carry leisurewear, denim in various fits and washes and a sophisticated range of smart apparel.

Kidswear includes RI baby, mini and older kids’ spring summer collections as well as everyday essentials.

In May 2023, River Island opened a brand new concept store in the Trafford Centre.

The new River Island store will open on April 25 in The Arndale shopping centre.
