Edinburgh man scoops life-changing sum after poker win at local casino

An Edinburgh man scooped a life-changing £118,000 after a big win at one of the capital's busiest casinos.

The mystery player chanced his luck in a game of Three Card Poker and walked away with the enormous sum of cash this month, saying he hasn't stopped smiling since.

The man, who wishes to stay anonymous, was visiting the Grosvenor Casino on Maybury Road on the off chance he would have a lucky night. The player hadn't even realised his huge win until he was informed by the dealer.

Only visiting the casino occasionally, the player went up against the dealer in several betting rounds and walked away £118,387 richer after winning the progressive jackpot with a royal flush of spades.

Speaking about his jackpot prize, the mystery winner said: “You always hear stories about other people winning and never think it’s going to happen to you – but it did! Initially, I hadn’t realized that I’d won, and the dealer had to let me know. I’m over the moon about winning and I haven’t stopped smiling since.”
