Fans were left devastated by the unexpected shooting of Archie's dad Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) in the season one finale and while Perry was noticeably absent from the cast and crew's table read last week, the actor has now officially been snapped on set during season two filming.

So, does this mean Fred lives? Well, we're so not sure.

While Perry can be seen on set (which seems to be a good sign), he could merely be filming his death scene so it's not a total confirmation that he'll be around for longer than an episode.

However, Fred's appearance isn't the only potential spoiler in frame.

Indeed, what the image does seem to confirm is that Jughead is going to become a fully-fledged member of the Southside Serpents next season, as he can be seen wearing a shirt with a serpent emblem on it.

NOT a good sign, obviously, but what else is in store for season two?

Well, from what we know so far, the first episode will be titled 'A Kiss Before Dying', which all sounds rather ominous.

And it also seems like Betty will be getting to grip with her comic book character's roots, by taking up an interest in car mechanics.

Plus, it looks like the new kids on the river Charles Melton (Reggie) and Mark Consuelous (Hiram Lodge), will be getting into the swing of things rather quickly.

Can someone say excited?

Riverdale returns October 11 on The CW. Netflix airs the show in the UK.
