RNLI Rescue Dog Walker Stuck in Mud on Merseyside Beach

An “intrepid” crew member from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) rescued a dog walker who found herself stuck in the mud at a beach in New Brighton, Merseyside, on February 16.

Crew member Trevor Boyes had to crawl to the woman, who was knee deep in the mud. A video tweeted by the RNLI shows Boyes successfully freeing her.

“I managed to dig her feet out before getting her to sit back so she could free herself,” Boyes told ITV.

“We believe she had been stuck for at least 30 minutes, so I couldn’t be more pleased that we were able to be on scene so quickly and get her out of the unfortunate situation she found herself in,” he said. Credit: RNLI via Storyful
