Roadchef has unveiled a new High-Powered Super Hub at Rownhams Services Eastbound.

The super hub now has six 350KW electric vehicle (EV) chargers outside of Southampton on the M27 eastbound.

These chargers, fuelled by 100 per cent net zero carbon energy, enable motorists to fully charge their EVs in minutes.

All the super hubs, including the one at Rownhams with both CCS and Chedemo connectors, provide real-time updates to popular EV charging maps and accept contactless payment.

Complimentary Wi-Fi and access to popular hospitality and retail brands such as Costa, McDonalds, and WH Smith are additional perks for EV drivers stopping at Roadchef Rownhams eastbound.

Paul Comer, director of EV implementation at Roadchef, said: "This is another fantastic milestone for Roadchef and our partnership with GRIDSERVE. as we level up EV charging infrastructure across the country.

"We are absolutely committed to supporting Britain’s journey to become safer and greener.

"This latest Super-Hub will provide much welcomed further access to charging facilities on the South Coast, the development of which are crucial to achieve the UK’s goal of becoming net zero by 2050."

Roadchef continues to electrify its operations, boasting over 70 high-power chargers, more than 40 GRIDSERVE medium power chargers, and 24 standalone AC chargers across its 30 sites.

The latest data from Zap Map reveals the UK now has 59,590 EC charging points, a 47 per cent increase since March 2023.
