Woman on mobility scooter rushed to hospital after being struck by bus in Hackney
A woman travelling on a mobility scooter has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a bus in Hackney.
The woman - aged in her 60s - was hit by the bus on Amhurst Road on Sunday evening.
She was taken to hospital with serious injuries but police have not confirmed whether she was in a critical condition.
The junction of Amhurst Road and Dalston Lane was blocked off - and was expected to remain so all night - as emergency services attended the incident.
Hackney MPS Tweeted: “Please avoid Pembury Junction E8 - serious road traffic Collision with multiple road closures. The closures will be in all night.”
One eyewitness wrote: “Incident outside Pembury Arms nr #Hackney Downs. Buses have stopped.
“Wise up avoid area if you're travelling.”
And others reported seeing London Air Ambulance flying over Hackney.

A Metropolitan police spokesman said: "Police were called at 17.11pm on Sunday, 19 February, to Amhurst Road, Hackney, E8 to reports of a bus in collision with a woman who had been using a mobility scooter.
"Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended the scene.
"The woman - aged in her 60s - was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries. We await an update as to whether her condition is life-threatening.
"The driver of the bus stopped at the scene. There has been no arrest."
