Roads to Lake Tahoe Carpeted in Snow During Winter Storm

Roads leading to Lake Tahoe in Placer County, California, were covered in snow on Thursday, January 16, during a period of heavy falls.

A winter storm warning was in effect on Thursday with more than 2 feet expected on the Sierra crest. A foot of snow was expected at elevations below 7,000 feet with 18 inches to 2 feet on ridge tops. Wind gusts at the highest elevations were forecasted to top 100 mph.
