Lionsgate has released the trailer for Bombshell, a movie based on a real high-profile #MeToo scandal.

Bombshell will focus on the stories of multiple female employees at Fox News in America, who came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the former chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

Boy Erased star Nicole Kidman, I, Tonya's Margot Robbie and Atomic Blonde actress Charlize Theron are leading the film, playing Gretchen Carlson, Kayla Pospisil and Megyn Kelly, respectively.

The just released teaser trailer doesn't show too much, but if the film is half as tense as this short clip, we're in for something good.

Beyond the three leads, Bombshell will star John Lithgow, Malcolm McDowell, Kate McKinnon, Rob Delaney, Alice Eve and more.

Sexual harassment allegations against Ailes began coming out in 2016. The allegations prompted a larger investigation from Rupert Murdoch and his children which led to Ailes resignation (and a $40 million settlement), although he remained as an adviser to Murdoch and then Donald Trump.

Ailes then died in May 2017.

Nicole Kidman recently appeared in the second season of Big Little Lies, and has re-teamed with the show's creator David E Kelley for upcoming miniseries The Undoing, in which she'll also be serving as executive producer.

Margot Robbie is currently starring in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in the DC movie Birds of Prey (get your first look here).

Bombshell is set for release in December.
