Robbie Williams reveals that he cancelled concerts because he was in intensive care

Robbie Williams has finally revealed why he cancelled three concerts in September of this year, breaking his silence to tell fans that he has spent time in intensive care after receiving some “very worrying” test results.

The singer spoke candidly in a video that he posted to his YouTube channel, explaining that he had no choice but to call off the gigs that were supposed to take place in Russia last month.

Robbie shared: “I’ve been recovering from an illness now for the last five weeks.

“Unfortunately that illness kicked in just at the end of my tour, a tour which was going so well.

“Then I got some test results. They were very worrying and I ended up in ICU [intensive care unit], so I couldn’t go.”

Robbie added: “I haven’t pulled out of a tour for bad health since 1998, so you know, if I can’t do it then there’s something going on that I just can’t do.”

The 43-year-old father-of-two went on to reveal that his health scare has encouraged him to look after himself more, telling fans that he has now taken up pilates and follows a mostly vegan diet, although he still has a cheat meal once a week.

He concluded with: “I’m not feeling 100 per cent but I’m getting there, and I know I’m going to be better than ever.”
