Robyn Dixon confirms she's leaving “The Real Housewives of Potomac”: 'I was fired'

Dixon has been on "RHOP" since it started.

The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion is over, and so is an era of the show.

RHOP veteran Robyn Dixon announced on a Monday episode of her Reasonably Shady podcast that her time on the show has come to an end. "I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac," Dixon said. "It's reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugarcoat the situation and say, 'Oh, I am walking away, and this is a break' or anything like this. This is a network decision."

While there were reports in March that she wasn't returning, Dixon didn't address rumors until Monday's show. She is one of four season 8 cast members who have been with the Maryland-based spinoff since it launched, along with Ashley Darby, Karen Huger, and Gizelle Bryant, who cohosts Reasonably Shady.

However, Entertainment Weekly has learned that while she wasn't picked up for next season, the door remains open for a return at a later date.

"I'm okay with it, because nothing lasts forever," Dixon continued. "I've had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show." She went on to thank the network, Truly Original, and the show's fans.

"I do want to especially thank all of the fans and viewers who have supported me, showed love to me. Whether you directly sent me love, or you prayed for me, or you have positive thoughts around me, I appreciate you. And I hope I inspired you, the viewers, the fans, to live your life authentically. To not feel pressure to change for anyone, or impress people, and just to be yourself."

Dixon added that she is only now addressing the situation so the focus could remain on the show until the season concluded. "I wanted to respect the network and respect the show and wait until the season ended, which I think makes sense," she said.

She's not the only one leaving the show. Dillard Bassett told PEOPLE she was exiting the show after six seasons on March 25. Unlike Dixon, Bassett said she hopes to be back. "This is not a farewell, but a 'see you later," she said.

On her podcast, Dixon also addressed her former costar. "I really want to say, I love you. It's been such a fun, amazing, stressful, crazy wild journey," she said. "I couldn't imagine doing what we did with anyone else... Although we still have Reasonably Shady, I'm still going to talk to you all the time and see you all the time, I hate that that part of our friendship is not there anymore."
