Yahoo News Rockies manager Bud Black eats a stick of gum from 1986 Topps on 'Old Baseball Cards'
Plenty of people have eaten the gum on “Old Baseball Cards” by now, but nobody has seemed as enthusiastic about it as Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black.
Black eagerly takes the stick of gum from a pack of 1986 Topps — that’s 34 years old, folks — and chomps right into it. And get this, he didn’t hate it.
While flipping through his pack of cards, Black seems to know everybody. And he played with quite a few too. Makes sense, he’s a well-traveled ex-player and manager, who played 15 years in the big leagues and will be in his 13th season as a manager when baseball resumes.
You’ll see why Black is regarded as one of the nicer guys in the game, as he has great things to say about everyone. He finds a guy he won a World Series with, another long-time big leaguer who he says he couldn’t get out. Then, as always, we finish the show off with a trade.
