Rod Stewart's wife Penny gushes over newlyweds as she shares intimate wedding photo

Rod Stewart's brood have celebrated a lavish week after his son Liam got hitched in Croatia.

The ice hockey player married his fiancee Nicole Artukovich at St. Ignatius Church in Dubrovnik on Friday.

The pair have been sharing snaps and videos from their romantic day and wild reception party.

Liam's step-mum Penny Lancaster, gushed over the newlyweds as she shared a sweet photograph of the lovebirds.

Liam and Nicole leaned in towards each other with their foreheads touching, looking the picture of happiness and Penny wrote alongside the snap: "Their love is on fire, their light shines so bright. I captured this moment that doesn’t need words. Congratulations you love birds, I’m honoured to have been apart of your beautiful celebrations @nicoleartukovich @discostew94."

And many of Penny's followers commented on the stunning picture.

One wrote: "Aww !! Such a lovely picture congratulations all round , such lovely words Penny."

Another added: "Congratulations. Loved Rod in the background holding the Scottish flag for their 1st dance. Looked like a bouncy boozy day!"

While one said: "Absolutely stunning enjoy the rest of your day @penny.lancaster."

The day really nodded to the Stewart's Scottish roots as Rod was pictured waving a Scotland flag and the couple exited the church to bagpipes playing Flower of Scotland.

The entire Stewart clan, including Sarah, Kimberly, Ruby, Renee, Sean, Alastair, and Aiden, were seen enjoying the nuptials as they toasted to Liam and Nicole's union in what was described as a heartfelt and merry celebration.

Sharing more updates from the special day, Liam re-posted some clips and photos on his Instagram page, including the moment him and new wife Nicole shared their first dance.

The moment was made even more special as his sister Ruby provided the vocals for their first dance together. She was filmed singing to Sweet Symphony by Joy Oladokun and Chris Stapleton.

Ruby was dressed in a gorgeous yellow maxi dress at the wedding, as her vocals were supported by a guitarist.
