Roger E Mosley, best known for starring in 80s cult TV series Magnum, P.I, has died at the age of 83.

The actor played helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin alongside Tom Selleck in the crime-adventure series, which ran for eight seasons from 1980 until 1988.

He died on Sunday as a result of injuries sustained from a car crash last week that had left him paralysed from the shoulders down and in a critical condition.

Confirming his death in a statement on social media, his daughter Ch-a Mosley said: “We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name.

“It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too.

“My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

Mosley was born to mother Eloise Harris in Los Angeles, California, in 1938. He never knew his father.

His other acting credits included TV series’ Starsky and Hutch and WalkerTexas Ranger, as well as films including A Thin Line Between Love & Hate.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Antoinette Laudermilk and their three children.
