Rory McIlroy has had a stellar gold career to date from his four 'Major' wins to his countless tour victories.

Since claiming his first professional win as a fresh-faced 19-year-old at the 2009 Dubai Desert Classic the Holywood man has continued to add to his winnings over the past 15 years. But just how much has he accumulated and from where?

EXPGOLFER blog has analysed the data and broken down McIlroy's overall career earnings and where the 34-year-old has had the most success, and the results are fascinating.

"I crunched the numbers to figure out exactly how much money Rory Mcllroy had earned from every tour throughout his career until today," they explained on the blog. "He has earned over $137.5 million or exactly $137,836,430 from the PGA & European tour from 2009 to 2024 Mars.

"On average it is $8,614,776 per year. From the PGA tour, it is $83,125,078 million and the European tour is $54,711,352 million. I went the extra mile to see the percentage of those earnings from every PGA tour event."

Looking at the data it shows Rory has accumulated the majority of his winnings, $20,537,793, from the World Golf Championships, as staggering 24.71% of his total winnings. The next closest is the PGA Championship at 7.14%, $5,937,094 following McIlroy's two wins at the 'Major' in 2012 and 2014.

Despite not having won the Masters, it featured in seventh place on the list of earnings with $4,137,521 which equates to 4.98%. A good performance at Augusta this weekend however would see that total change.
