Yahoo News Rose Hanbury just addressed the Prince William affair rumours
Rose Hanbury, otherwise known as Sarah Rose Cholmondeley, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, has spoken out to address the long-running rumours that she has been having an affair with Prince William. Some social media users have even gone so far as to claim that she was pregnant with the future King's baby.
Now, via her legal team (in a quote issued to Business Insider), it seems Rose has come to firmly shut the rumour mill down and has plainly said stories of her having an affair "are completely false."
The 40-year-old has been married to her husband, David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley (pronounced 'Chumley') since 2009 and the pair share three children – twin boys, Alexander Cholmondeley, Earl of Rocksavage and Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, born October 2009, and a daughter, Lady Iris Marina Aline Cholmondeley, born March 2016.
The Marchioness of Cholmondeley has been pictured at multiple royal events, including a memorial service for Prince Philip, King Charles III's coronation and at a Buckingham Palace's dinner held as part of former US President Donald Trump's State Visit to the UK.
She was also seen chatting to the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, at a 2016 charity event held at her family's home, Houghton Hall.
Cosmopolitan UK has reached out directly for comment from the Marchioness.
Who is Rose Hanbury?
Well, as you might expect given the rumours she's found herself mixed up in, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley is not your run-of-the-mill average Jane – instead Sarah Rose Hanbury is the daughter of fashion designer, Emma Longman, and Timothy Hanbury a website designer (and the grandson of Sir Henry Ralph Stanley Birkin, 3rd Baronet, a racing car driver).
Her connections to the elite aren't limited to just her husband either, as Rose's sister, Marina, is the third wife of Edward Lambton, 7th Earl of Durham. Rose and Marina's grandmother was also a shoe-in with the royals too; Lady Elizabeth Lambart, daughter of the 10th Earl of Cavan, served as a bridesmaid during the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the former Duke of Edinburgh.
As for her own career, Rose is known to have modelled and been signed to the agency Storm, whose alumni also include Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Behati Prinsloo.
She also worked as a researcher for Tory MP, Michael Gove.
Who is Rose Hanbury's husband, the Marquess of Cholmondeley?
The Maquess of Cholmondeley is a filmmaker and British peer, with quite the lineage behind him: he's a descendant of Sir Robert Walpole (1676–1745), the first British PM, and is the son of Hugh Cholmondeley, 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley, and Lavinia, Marchioness of Cholmondeley (née Leslie).
Like many a Tory MP and royal, he attended Eton College for his education and later studied at Sorbonne in Paris. Perhaps it's here that he meant French photographer and renowned scammer, François-Marie Banier, who is godfather to the Cholmondeley twins (and who inspired the Netflix documentary, The Billionaire, The Butler and the Boyfriend.
Does Rose Hanbury have social media?
Nope - or at least not any public facing accounts. However, her stately home, Houghton Hall, has an Instagram presence and can be viewed here or via the handle @Houghton_Hall.
