Rosemary’s Baby Movie Prequel Apartment 7A, Starring Julia Garner, to Premiere on Paramount+

Apartment 7A, a prequel to the 1968 psychological horror film Rosemary’s Baby, has scared up a pre-Halloween release date — exclusively on Paramount+.

Rosemary’s Baby, written and directed by Roman Polanski, starred Mia Farrow as Rosemary Woodhouse, a young newlywed who suspects her New York apartment building neighbors belong to a cult, and then fears that the baby she winds up carrying is the son of Satan.

Apartment 7A, starring Golden Globe winner Julia Garner (Ozark) and directed by Natalie Erika James (Relic), is set in New York City circa 1965 and explores what happened in that apartment before Rosemary moved in.

The prequel’s premise: When a struggling, young dancer (played by Garner) suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame.

Apartment 7A, which reportedly wrapped filming some time ago, also stars two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess (Home Before Dark) and Kevin McNally (the Pirates of the Caribbean film series), with a supporting cast that includes Marli Siu (Alex Rider), Andrew Buchan (Carnival Row), Rosy McEwen (The Alienist) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (The Split).
