New route at Bank station saves nine minutes off Tube journey, says TfL

Passsengers changing trains at Bank station will save up to nine minutes on their journey after a new walking route opened, according to Transport for London.

On Thursday morning three new escalators installed under the station’s recent £700m expansion were switched on – making it easier to interchange between the Northern line and DLR.

It came as Tube journeys hit 100 per cent of pre-pandemic levels last Sunday – while bus travel was at 100 per cent of “normal” last Saturday.

The expansion of Bank station created a new southbound platform for the Northern line and developed a new station entrance on Cannon Street.
