Following her recent horrific crash behind the wheel, actress Roxanne Pallett has been discharged from hospital.

The ex-Emmerdale star (who played Jo Sugden in the soap) was taking part in a stock car race at Hunmanby Raceway in York when she reportedly crashed into a concrete wall while driving at high speed.

Fortunately for the 36-year-old, when the accident happened she was clothed in crash gear and a racing helmet – although the impact rendered her unconscious for around 30 seconds, according to The Sun.

She has since returned home, sporting strapping on both her wrists and accompanied by her boyfriend Lee Walton.

Digital Spy has reached out to her representatives for any further clarification, but has not yet received a comment.

As the crash happened, Minister FM (for which she co-hosts a daily breakfast show) made a statement, which read: "Unfortunately Roxy was involved in an accident yesterday. We wish her a speedy recovery and can't wait to have her back in the studio and waking up North Yorkshire with Ben [Fry].

"Thank you for all of your messages wishing her well. Roxy and Minster FM appreciate your support."

Earlier this year, Roxanne discussed her decision to quit doing 'love scenes' whilst playing on-screen characters, admitting that she'd turned down big movies in order to move away from that style of work.
