Bookmakers have released their latest odds for the name of third royal child after Kensington Palace announced the baby is due in April.

Betting began on the third name to follow George and Charlotte after news broke of the Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancy in September.

The palace today issued a statement saying the royal couple were “delighted” they are expecting their new baby in April.

Alice, Arthur and Victoria are all big favourites among bookies Coral, Betfair and Paddy Power along with Albert, Henry and Elizabeth all ranking highly, according to the latest odds.

William and Kate, both 35, are already the proud parents of four-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who turned two in May.

As with her previous two pregnancies, Kate has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum - severe morning sickness.

As expected the couple are not revealing the sex of their baby and keeping it a surprise.

The Queen is said to be “delighted” by the news of the impending arrival of her latest great-grandchild, who will be fifth in line to the throne.

The monarch's own birthday is also in April.
