Royal wedding 2018: Moment passenger jet 'photobombs' police helicopter above Windsor crowds

This is the moment an Aer Lingus passenger plane inadvertently "photobombed" a police helicopter camera that was filming a bird's-eye view of the royal wedding crowds.

Footage filmed by the National Police Air Service showed an aerial view of the crowds at Windsor before the plane whizzed into view.

NPAS Benson tweeted the footage with the caption: “...That awkward moment where you're innocently scanning crowd numbers around the Royal wedding and a plane several thousand feet BELOW us scares me for a split second!”

Eagle-eyed viewers of the clips spotted that it was an Aer Lingus plane.

Paul McNiffe wrote: “Photobombed by Aer Lingus.”

Aer Lingus' official Twitter account responded to the video saying: “Oh hai.”

According to the officer the plane was on its way to Heathrow Airport.

One man named Rob Soanes questioned why the palace was built so close to Heathrow.

To which another person said: “Convenience. The queen likes a week in Majorca like the rest of us..”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married on Saturday in an extraordinary ceremony at St George's Chapel.

More than 100,000 people flocked to Windsor to celebrate their marriage and cheer the couple on.
