Ruby Tandoh blasts ‘peacocking manchild’ Paul Hollywood

Former Bake Off favourite Ruby Tandoh has told her Twitter followers exactly what she thinks about Paul Hollywood’s decision to ‘follow the dough’ to Channel 4 – and it makes for pretty uncomfortable reading.

The series 4 star, who was recently voted the most popular Bake Off contestant of all time in a Radio Times poll, unleashed an astonishing tirade against the 50-year-old judge, branding him a ‘peacocking manchild’ and even poking fun at his well-known penchant for fast cars, and er, bootcut jeans. Ouch!

The 24-year-old baker has a bit of history with Paul. The pair were famously singled out for ‘flirting’ during her time on the show, which they vehemently denied. Later he publicly ticked her off for mentioning him in her ‘coming out’ tweets.

But it’s not just Ruby who’s less than impressed with Hollywood’s decision to go it alone over on Channel 4.

He was roundly criticised for failing to mention Mary Berry in a statement signaling his intention to stay on the show – although in his defence, it sounds like he made the announcement before getting wind of Mary’s decision.

“When I spoke about my news earlier on, I did not know what Mary was saying about her decision, and more importantly had not been able to speak to her,” he said in a later statement.

“Let there be no doubt: I have loved every minute of my time working with Mary. I have learned so much from her and we are great friends inside and outside the tent.

“That will not change. Knowing her as well as I do, I am sure she has made the right decision for her. I will miss her.”

Hmm… maybe Ruby could step into Mary Berry’s shoes. Now that would make interesting viewing.
