From Runner's World

When it comes to the fastest marathon runner in the world, we want to know everything - the glute exercise he swears by in training, how many hours he sleeps each night and the shoes he plans on wearing for his next race. Which is why, while watching the London Marathon press conference this week, we couldn’t help wondering - what running watch Eliud Kipchoge was wearing.

While we’ve not had it confirmed by the athlete or the brand, we believe Kipchoge is wearing a Coros Apex Pro running watch to ensure his pacing is on point in the run up to the elite-only London Marathon this weekend.

According to Coros, their Apex Pro running watch is ‘built for the long...er run’. The California-based brand is relatively new to the running scene, but have been making waves with their range of multi-sport watches.

At $499.99, the Apex Pro has all the features you’d expect from a running watch, as well as a touch screen, a barometric altimeter, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and thermometer. It’s lighter than other similar sports watches and has a stylish titanium bezel, which you can pair with a number of different straps.

For impatient runners, the watch has a two hour charge time and a long-lasting battery life, lasting 40 hours in full GPS mode and 100 hours in UltraMax mode.

Of course, whether the watch gives Kipchoge the data he needs to set a marathon world record at the elite-only London Marathon remains to be seen. Now to research what the man himself eats for breakfast...
