Russian Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova found dead in suitcase

A Russian Instagram influencer has been found dead in a suitcase with her throat slit, police have said.

Ekaterina Karaglanova, 24, who had more than 85,000 Instagram followers, was found with knife wounds in her rented Moscow flat.

Concerns were raised by her parents last week when they were unable to contact her for several days.

Her landlord helped them gain access to the flat on Friday, where they found her body in a suitcase in the hallway.

An ambulance was called to the scene but she was already dead, according to reports.

Police said a former boyfriend was discovered on CCTV visiting her apartment block in the days around her disappearance. Officers are investigating jealousy as a possible motive for the killing.

Ms Karaglanov, who practised as a doctor and specialised in dermatology, had recently started a relationship with a new man and had been planning to visit The Netherlands for her birthday on Tuesday.

She regularly posted images of herself on Instagram, where she was compared to Audrey Hepburn by her followers, and wrote a travel blog with thousands of subscribers.
