Russian man hailed a hero after running into propane cloud to prevent huge gas explosion at petrol station

A Russian man has been hailed a hero after risking his life preventing a leaking fuel tanker from exploding.

CCTV footage captured a wayward car in Kaspiysk, Russia, clipping pipes on a petrol station tanker, causing fuel and gas to escape.

And with the guilty driver showing no concern by driving away, it is left to Arsene Fitsulaev to step in.

He is spotted running into the fuel tanker’s propane cloud and frantically shutting off the tank to prevent flames causing it to explode.

Fitsulaev has since been awarded for his bravery by the local office and rescue team in Kaspiysk.
