Yahoo News Ruth Langsford reveals how her iconic hair look is created
Ruth Langsford took to social media to show fans how her iconic bob hairstyle is created — and how she maintains a stunning look with plenty of volume.
With full transparency, Ruth revealed on her Instagram account that she was in fact sporting subtle hair extensions. A similar length to her own hair, they mostly added lift and volume, but did also create a longer look by thickening her bottom layer.
Taking to social media, the star revealed a behind-the-scenes look at how her hairstyle is created — and admitted she's always tempted to try a new, longer hairstyle.
Captioning the video of her hairdresser at work applying the extensions, Ruth said: "Got my extensions replaced today by the lovely @_graceahmad @leobancroft salon. Always tempted to keep it long but only really have them for volume not length….maybe one day I’ll surprise you with long, golden locks!!"
Ruth first shared that she wore hair extensions to create her look back in 2021. In July of that year, the he TV icon shared a video to her page showing her hair and makeup artist at work, using a wand to create a wave to the hair and discussing the two hair pieces added.
She captioned the video; "New week, new do! Thank you for all your lovely comments about my hair today….all thanks to the talented & lovely @livdaveymakeup ….the woman’s a miracle worker!"
The super subtle extensions blend seamlessly into Ruth's hair and you'd never guess they were there. We often associate extensions with long princess hair, but subtle, natural look hair pieces are a great way to add volume and give hair some oomph.
