Championship side Millwall have left the door open for Ryan Longman to make a return to The Den this summer according to Lions boss Neil Harris.

Longman spent last season on loan with the South London outfit having been allowed to leave Hull City by former head coach Liam Rosenior, along with a host of other first team players.

The winger played 35 times in the royal blue of Millwall, scoring three goals and two assists - his stunning winning strike against Leicester City won the Goal of the Season crown.

Longman's future at City remains unclear following Rosenior's dismissal and the appointment of Tim Walter, but the 23-year-old, who has a year left on his MKM Stadium contract, is thought to be keen on a return to Bermondsey, and Harris, who spoke glowingly of the the ex-Brighton youngster, is open to a reunion for the pair ahead of the new campaign, but admits the change in manager in East Yorkshire has muddied the water somewhat.

Longy was brilliant for me,” Harris told the South London Press. “He showed some excellent attributes to be a really, really positive attacking influence as a Millwall winger.

“I really enjoyed working with him. He’s a brilliant character. He is a player we have stayed in touch with and the door was firmly open for Longy to certainly work with me and the football club in the future.

“Sometimes in football, things can change quickly. Hull have changed their manager not long after the season finished and players then might be in plans or might be out of plans. There’s certainly been a continued relationship between Ryan and myself regarding what the future years might hold.”
