The ‘Counting Stars’ singer appears on the cover of Fault magazine’s upcoming issue and during their chat, he spilled details about his future projects following the release of One Republic’s album Oh My My out on October 7th.

Ryan said he’s a huge fan of the Hold Back The River crooner and the pair have decided to kick of 2017 with some studio time.

Asked who he’d love to work with, he said: “Someone connected us and we plan on writing together at the beginning of 2017, around January. But yeah, James is my favourite newcomer.”

James caught Ryan’s eye after the 26-year-old singer/songwriter stormed onto the world music stage in 2015 and released a string of hits from his debut album Chaos and the Calm.

Speaking about working with people that ‘move’ him, Ryan added: ‘You’ve got limited time in a day and you have to choose the ones that move you the most. You can’t just chase the ones that you think you’re going to have a hit with. You go for the ones that you know you’ll bring out the best in them and they’ll bring out the best in you.’

Elsewhere, Ryan worked with music legend Stevie Wonder recently on a movie soundtrack and admitted he felt completely star struck.

He teased: ‘I did a song for a movie with [Stevie Wonder] a couple of weeks ago. He and I were sitting in a room, going back and forth over lyrics and I had a moment where I was sat there and I wished there was a camera filming cause I was writing a song with Stevie Wonder.’

‘Oh My My’ is released on October 7th, available to pre order now. The new single, ‘Kids’, is out now.
