Rylan Clark was left jokingly clapping back at Cat Deeley when he appeared on This Morning to deny he's 'on the run'. The presenter appeared on This Morning on Wednesday (May 1) after an e-fit released by a UK police force was said to look like him.

Earlier this week, Rylan, 35, shared a post from Kent Police on X, formerly known as Twitter, that included a computer-generated image of a man they would like to identify in connection with a robbery, but many pointed out he looked startlingly familiar to the BBC Radio 2 star.

In the e-fit, the man was shown with dark hair and a well-manicured beard and moustache that looked very similar to Rylan, with police captioning it: "Officers investigating a report of attempted robbery in #Maidstone have released a computer-generated image of a man they would like to identify."

But Rylan saw the funny side of the similarity to the person wanted as he reposted it, writing: "Wasn't me". The exchange was then picked up by This Morning who gave him a ring on the show and was seen speaking live from his hotel room in Malmo, Sweden, ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Essex-born presenter shared: "I might be on the run, I'm not too sure. I woke up yesterday to a lot of messages from people saying, 'Are you on the run?'" He explained he decided to retweet the post, sharing a caption above that read "Wasn't me" before he revealed he was contacted by news outlets.

Cat's co-host Ben Shephard commented on the hotel room Rylan was calling in from and said: "I'm not going to lie Rylan, it does look like you're in hiding." But Cat interjected to tell him it was not the first time Rylan had been mistaken as he'd been likened to a cat in the past. The white cat, shared online, looked like it had a dark beard similar to Rylan's.

Rylan replied: "I get this every single year with Conchita Wurst from the Eurovision Song Contest. Cats, criminals, Conchita, I must be doing something right." But there was a moment when he hilariously clapped back at Cat after she asked: "Did you call us for this abuse Rylan or did we call you? Or are you just a gluten for punishment?"

To which Rylan replied: "Oh yeah, Cat. Clearly, I woke up this morning and thought, 'You know what I'll do? I'll video in to This Morning!' Of course you're ringing me! I'm not even there!" They all then laughed as Rylan again proved he was in Sweden by showing off his view from outside the window.
