Rylan Clark took his fans by surprise as he shared one of the ways he keeps his skin in tip-top condition. The TV and radio presenter took to social media with a selfie in which he could seemingly be seen using a bright red product across his face, missing out his jet black beard.

He took the product right up to his hairline and looked straight into the camera as he took the selfie, in which he could be seen sporting a bit of a tan on his shirtless torso.

Captioning the post, Rylan simply wrote: "Maintenance," with his fans and followers knowing he likes to keep himself looking his best, whether that be with his skincare or his clothes.

Ruth Langsford was among his pals to respond, writing: "You’ll be starting a trend!" But it caused alarm among some who couldn't work out if it was actually the 35-year-old's blood on his face. However, there were some funnier suggestions.

@crazy_gigi_curlywig said: "What on earth is that!!!" @therubyfoxes asked: "Is it the blood of your enemies?"@lisa_jayne70 commented: "Beetroot?? or blood?!!" @andihoughton wrote: "Looks like Jam." @thedavidturneruk echoed: "Look like you sneezed when eating a jam sandwich. Still look great though man."

Others, however, were completely distracted by Rylan's gaze. @cluckety54 said: "Never noticed what beautiful eyes you have!" @ireneasmith commented: "Beautiful eyes." @katkinboots60 wrote: "You have your lovely mammy's eyes!" @canine_ovulation_test_pads echoed: "GOSH you have Linda's eyes there babes." @bubblesbattenberg added: "You're such a handsome human, you have such twinkly clear eyes."

Meanwhile, Rylan has revealed that he has secretly returned to music in the last 12 years. Speaking to Ranvir Singh on ITV’s Lorraine, the BBC Radio 2 star admitted to being behind a ‘chart-topping’ song but nobody knows it’s him singing.

After trying to get more information from Rylan about the song, he said: “You would have heard it. It did really well.” Despite her pushing for more details, the former X Factor star added: "No one knows it's me and that's how I'm going to keep it."

But explaining his reasons for staying anonymous, Rylan shared: "I've been very lucky in my career. I've done a hell of a lot for an X Factor contestant, but I wanted to see if I could do it all over again, but do it as anonymous."
