S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara treated in hospital after suffering 'horrendous' back pain

S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara has revealed she had to go to hospital for treatment after suffering "horrendous" back pain.

The singer, 43, shared on Instagram that she was in agony with back issues but vowed that it would not stop her getting out on stage and performing.

Sharing a picture of herself in a hospital bed, she wrote: "So after almost 20 years pain free, my back decided it was time to flake out on me again.

"The pain has been absolutely horrendous! 4 discs bulging, and a bad case of sciatica, I yesterday went for some spinal blockers at the amazing @thelondonclinichospital to get things moving again!"

She went on: "It will not stop me doing my shows, and I will not be beaten by it!

"So I look forward to seeing you all at Gloucester Pride this weekend where I will be headlining.

"And the following week I will be Headlining at Fife Pride!

"Make sure to come and say hello!"

"This back of mine will not stop me doing what I love so I shall see you there!!" she added.

O'Meara also teased that she had some "very exciting" news coming and told her followers to keep their eyes peeled.

She also thanked her management team for getting her in to hospital so quickly.

The singer found fame alongside bandmates Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Hannah Spearritt in S Club 7, who were known for songs like Never Had A Dream Come True and Bring It All Back.

She now has a solo music career and unveiled her second album, With Love, last year.
