Sadie Frost turned heads in a retro gold outfit as she attended a special screening of her documentary Quant.

The socialite, 56, walked the red carpet at the Everyman Cinema in Chelsea, west London, on Wednesday night in a shimmering gold dress with pleated detail.

Ms Frost, who is part of the famous Primrose Hill set of celebrities and was formerly married first to Gary Kemp and then to Jude Law, is best known for starring in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Dracula,” alongside Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins.

Quant - which is about the famous 1960s fashion designer Mary Quant - is her directorial debut.

The documentary follows the life and times of Quant who was one of the most influential designers of her time and she is often credited with creating the mini skirt.

The documentary traces her journey using archive footage but also has some dramatised scenes starring Camilla Rutherford as Quant.

The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this month.

Ms Frost lifted the lid on why she wanted to tell the story of the designer.

She told Variety: “There’s still a lot of people that don’t know who she is. So for me, it was just such a important story to tell.”

“I have a fashion background and I have a film background and I’m a woman and I know a lot of Mary’s peers and I know a lot of contemporary people in fashion.”

Last week, Ms Frost revealed she had split from her partner of eight years and businessman Darren Strowger.

She told Stella Magazine there was “no drama or stress” in the split and she was now ready to focus on doing things for herself after decades of raising her four children.

Ms Frost is mother to Finlay, 31, who she shares with Kemp.

She also raises children Rafferty, 25, Iris, 20 and Rudy, 19, from her marriage to actor Jude Law.

She said: “I’ve decided to spend time on my own because of all my life changes, because of work, and the house. I want to live the life I want to live.

“Maybe it sounds incredibly selfish, but my kids are finally [at an age where] I don’t have to worry about them – and I’m on a mission for me.”
