Loose Women panellist Saira Khan has been taking lockdown in her stride, posting regular work out and self-care videos to share with fans.

However, as she’s at home and spending most of her time barefoot, the 49-year-old is suffering from sore and cracked feet.

And with salons closed, Saira decided to take matters into her own feet, we mean hands…

She created her very own peppermint foot scrub to ease her caked heels and we definitely need to try it.

“Saira’s homemade Peppermint scrub, which transforms feet in just 15 mins,” she wrote on Instagram.

“With self isolation comes walking around the house, working out, and doing the housework in my bare feet and the results are cracked, heels, hard skin and very tired and aching feet. And with no trips to the salon, I’ve been left with sole responsibility for self care of my tootsies,” she explained.

“So I’ve come up with a budget busting luxurious foot scrub using just 2 everyday household ingredients, olive oil and salt, which will give your feet a spa treatment in the comfort of your own home.

“You will also need either a file or pumice stone to remove dead skin and some peppermint essential oil and a bowl of warm water.”

The ingredients she used are: “Olive oil - rich in vitamin E and has excellent moisturising properties. Salt - Improved circulation gives skin a natural glow and Peppermint Essential Oil.

Saira explained that the peppermint oil is a “natural deodorant which produces a ‘chilled’ sensation by activating the cold sensors in the skin. Peppermint oil is also known to relieve foot pain”.

This could be an excellent addition to your home spa…

You might not be able to escape to a real-life spa retreat any time soon but, armed with the right pampering kit, you can certainly transform a corner of your home into a makeshift spa, indulging in DIY facials, skin-softening soaks, and a blissful night's sleep.
