Sam Ryder 'buzzing' as he is nominated for Best New Artist at the BRITs
This years BRIT Award nominations were read out in a special livestream hosted by Vick Hope
Sam Ryder said he felt like a "golden retriever that’s won a competition" as he was nominated for Best New Artist at the BRIT Awards.
The Space Man singer - who came second at the Eurovision Song Contest this year - is up against the likes of Kojey Radical, Mimi Webb, Rina Sawayama and Wet Leg for the coveted gong.
Speaking as the nominations were read out by Vick Hope, he said: "I’m buzzing, I am going to be running around the room."

He said he planned to "breathe it in and be appreciative".
"Whatever happens, to simply be recognised alongside so many amazing artists and peers is incredible," Ryder added.
"For me this is truly a reflection of what it’s all about – the music.”
Meanwhile, Harry Styles and the band Wet Leg are leading the nominations with four each, with both up for the sought after Album of the Year prize.
One Direction heartthrob Styles also has nods in the Song Of The Year, Artist of the Year and Pop/R&B act categories.
Last year the award for Best Male and Female Solo Artist Best Male was replaced by just one inclusive award, Artist of the Year.
This year's category featured only male acts, with Styles, rapper Central Cee, DJ Fred Again, George Ezra and grime artist Stormzy all in the mix.
The International Artist categories have also been replaced with a single gong, with Beyonce, Burna Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo and Taylor Swift all nominated.
Artic Monkeys are in the running for Group of the Year, along with The 1975, Wet Leg, Bad Boy Chiller Crew and Nova Twins.
