Sam Smith declares 'I am enough' in poignant post-therapy Twitter post

Sam Smith has shared an emotional Twitter thread with his followers, declaring that he has come to realise that “I am enough” after 18 months of therapy.

The Writing’s On The Wall singer revealed to his eight million followers that he is currently on holiday and has been trying to “make sense of all the mess in my head” for the last six months.

The 27-year-old has spoken openly about his struggles with anxiety and was forced to cancel tour dates earlier this year in order to focus on his mental health.

He also revealed in an interview with Jameela Jamil that he identifies as non-binary, considering himself to be neither a man or a woman.

Smith today took to Twitter to share a message with his fans, starting with a simple inspirational quote.

“I’ve watched and read so much over the last six months to try and make sense of all the mess in my head,” he added.

“Tried to find ways to organise all of my problems so that they are bound and organised into folders and boxes, so that they will never haunt me or effect [sic] me again.”

He went on to say that he would now live his life believing that he is enough.

“That mess in your mind is not a mess. It is who you are,” he said.

Smith added that he finds the words of strangers “comforting” and suggested he would seek to offer that same comfort to his followers.

The singer is set to release his third studio album later this year, having already released the first two singles, including top ten hit How Do You Sleep.

His two previous albums both made it to number one on the UK Album Chart and he has had several singles reach number one, including Stay With Me and Too Good at Goodbyes.
