Sam Smith Supports Jess Glynne Through Her Vocal Surgery

Cast your minds back to earlier this year (it’s tough, we know. We can barely remember what we ate for breakfast this morning), and you might remember Sam Smith being forced to cancel a bunch of tour dates and have scary vocal cord surgery.

Otherwise known as the time we tried to figure out whether or not it was possibly to send cookies and cuddles through the computer screen.

Verdict: Sadly, no.

Anywho, now that Sam’s voice is back to its smooth-as-runny-honey best, he’s been busy passing on help and advice to the ever-lovely Jess Glynne.

What a ruddy nice guy he is.

Speaking to 3am at the launch of her 1Rebel workout with Glacéau Smartwater, the 25-year-old revealed how Sam, 23, was there to support her as she too went through vocal surgery.

She explained: “Sam Smith has been amazing and supportive, giving me some great advice. He actually put me in contact with the same doctor that he and Adele saw.

“We were talking quite a lot throughout and my manager spoke to Adele’s management about the situation and he helped out.

“I really wanted to speak to her about it, but I never got the chance.”

She also spoke about how tough the prescribed silence was too, adding: “It was bad timing. I was so, so upset. I had to cancel so many shows and just disappear. It was really hard to deal with.

“Three weeks of no talking was awful. It felt like forever. I had to carry a white-board to write everything down it was horrible. It makes you feel quite depressed.

“You have to drink so much water everyday. I was weeing all the time.”

All my love going out to @JessGlynne right now. I know how it feels and it’s horrible, so everyone send her shit loads of kisses & cake x
