Samantha Morton was required to cut her whole hair off for a shocking scene in The Walking Dead.
Samantha's bald head was necessary so that she can fully embrace her role as The Whisperers' terrifying leader Alpha on the show's last episode 'Omega' (February 17).
And the actress did not mind shaving her head for that particular scene and revealed that she'd actually enjoyed it.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Samantha said: "Oh, I loved it. It just feels very real, and what the audience is seeing is real, you know?
"And there’s emotions about that, but the practicalities for pre-Alpha is that the hair, she’s turning herself into something."
Samantha continued: "She’s metamorphosing from a caterpillar to a butterfly, but not the nicest butterfly, you know?
"She’s completely changing who she is, and whether that’s trauma and something to do with the brain, or that she just found her true self that she’s able to be because of what’s happening to the world," added Samantha.
In the latest episode, fans also saw Alpha unmasked for the very first time, and her look was definitely striking.
Speaking of what her colleagues thought of her character's creepy look, Samantha said: "You know what? I think people do find her scary, so that’s a good thing, I think. They genuinely do.
"So I’m chuffed with that because I can just be the character then. I don’t have to kind of behave like some villain. I think you just be, don’t you? And then I think all that makeup really helps. It’s a bit mad."
