The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is set to be revealed later today, but its price has already been revealed.

Numerous rumours and leaks over recent months claimed it would land as one of the most expensive smartphones on the market, and they appear to have been accurate.

Carphone Warehouse has prematurely announced that the phone will cost £869 SIM-free.

The retailer published its Note 8 product page ahead of schedule, with the Note 8 set to launch later this afternoon, and it was spotted by the Inquirer. However, the pricing details have now been removed from the article.

That makes it a lot more expensive than both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+, which came out earlier this year, costing £689 and £779, respectively.

The Note 8 product page, which has now been pulled, also revealed that contract prices will start at £49 per month after a £59.99 upfront fee. That will get you 5GB of data.

O2, EE and Vodafone have all confirmed that they will be offering the handset, which is expected to start shipping to customers next month.

Samsung also slipped up earlier this week, listing the as-yet-unannounced phone on its website and confirming a number of expected features.

The Android handset is almost certain to pack an enormous 6.3-inch display, which you’ll be able to use with a digital stylus.

It also comes with a dual-camera setup, which marks a big change for Samsung, as well as the Bixby virtual assistant.
