Beeny has now detailed how after testing positive for the PALB2 gene, she had undergone further surgery.
Writing on Instagram, Beeny said: "Turns out little day surgery to whip out my ovaries and tubes as the last tick box after testing positive for PALB2 gene mutation."
She added: "Isn’t quite the walk in the park I expected and flipping smarts - not feeling quite as jolly as when G dropped me this morning."
The PALB2 gene, discovered by researchers in 2006, significantly raises the chances of breast cancer when mutated and it is often passed on to children.
Beeny recently spoke about the impact cancer had on her marriage to husband Graham Swift.
Appearing on The Mid Point podcast hosted by Gabby Logan, Beeny said: "We're hanging on in there by our fingernails. I mean, it's not easy, is it?"
She continued: "I was being particularly horrible, because I have been a bit horrible in the last couple of years to be honest at times. I was being particularly horrible and he said, 'you know the thing is Sarah, you're not prepared to leave and have your children half the time, and neither am I, so we're going to stay together.'"
Beeny and Swift married in 2002 after meeting on a blind date when the Property Ladder presenter was just 18.
Beeny's mother also died young of breast cancer – aged just 39 – when the TV star was 10.
