Satellite Imagery Shows Three Back-to-Back Cyclones Moving Toward Western North America

Three back-to-back cyclones moved across the eastern Pacific and western North America on Monday, April 22, bringing windy conditions to parts of the region.

Satellite imagery captured by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) shows the three mid-latitude cyclones swirling across the region. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), mid-latitude cyclones are associated with stormy conditions such as wind and precipitation.

The NWS issued a small craft advisory to remain in effect for parts of Oregon and Washington until Tuesday evening due to increased winds. Credit: CSU/CIRA & NOAA via Storyful
