Satellite Images Show Damaged Airport in Hostomel Following Strikes
Satellite images released on February 27 show damage to an airport in Hostomel, Ukraine, outside Kyiv, following heavy fighting and strikes in the area on February 24.
Maxar Technologies imagery shows damage to Antonov International Airport, in the Kyiv Oblast. On Thursday, Ukrainian officials said Russian military personnel had landed there and that they were forced to “launch an artillery strike at the airport where the enemy paratroopers landed.” They also said they shot down three helicopters.
Other Maxar imagery shows a large deployment of Russian ground forces, containing hundreds of military vehicles, northeast of the Ukrainian city of Ivankiv and moving in the direction of Kyiv—approximately 40 miles away, Maxar said. Credit: Maxar Technologies via Storyful
