Coventry City will be heading to Stoke for their opening game of the '24/'25 Championship season - and fans have giving us their early predictions for the campaign to come in the comments section. The Championship fixture list was revealed yesterday (June 26), with Oxford United, Bristol City and Norwich City making up the rest of the Sky Blues' August opponents.

Coventry will have their sights set on promotion again this season, having fallen agonisingly short in the playoffs against Luton two seasons ago. The club's FA Cup run last season is also cause for optimism, having beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers and given Manchester United the fright of their lives in an epic semi-final clash.

Reader Goalscorer is bullish about their chances: "This is our year! 26k+ every home game. 95% of all away games sold out. SBA as always, the 12th man will deliver us Promotion. COYSB".

Commenter Mercianfm writes: "Automatic promotion not really likely for the Sky Blues. The Championship gets ever stronger each year. Top ten definitely likely, top eight possible. I will feel more confident if the club hang onto Sheaf, which remains uncertain."

Hadji reckons movements elsewhere will help Coventry: "This is a much weaker division than last season. Leeds will be weaker and lose their danger man (Summerville). Plus a few of the starting 11 were loans, like Rodon. If they didnt get automatic last year, they got a harder task this time round."

"Hull also without their loan striker who was banging in the goals. A few of the others like Norwich and West Brom need to sell now as their Premier League money is gone. Last season was their last big chance. We should be aiming for automatic, not playoffs. 2 more signings (keeper and CDM) and I'll feel confident we can do that."

Ccfccol says: "Can't see any of Hull, Middlesbrough or Watford challenging next season, so plenty of spots in the top 6 for City to aim at."

Riva writes: "Having been to Wembley and scared the pants off Man Utd, I don't think the City will be in awe of anyone."

Charliehopper says: "The Championship is the second most football league in Europe and that is because it is so tough. No games can be considered as easy games but as long as City can find the consistency and keep injuries down to a minimum I believe they can finish top two."
