Scarlett Moffatt is the definition of a true canny lass. She's funny, likeable, dead good at making telly observations and gorgeous, too.

Despite her recent whirlwind success and soaring popularity, though, Scarlett has admitted that she often 'spends days crying' after being subjected to online abuse and body shaming.

Speaking to The Sun about the effect of trolls who target her on Twitter and Instagram, Scarlett admitted she hated the "constant pressure" she felt to look a certain way.

Opening up about her struggle with anxiety, Scarlett said: "I spend days crying and putting on a brave face.

"I worry about the impact on younger girls like my little sister, who is only 11, and how it affects her and women as a whole. I want them to be happy in themselves, whether that's athletic, slim or curvy."

Although Scarlett admits her desire to "be a good role model" leads her to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle online, she thinks there's one thing more important in life: "To be happy."

"I want people to enjoy the shows I'm on and read the books I write because I make them smile, because I make them think – not because they think I look good in a bodycon dress."

This isn't the first time Scarlett has talked candidly about the pressures of fame. Sharing her experience of panic attacks and anxiety last year, the reality star and TV host also revealed the coping mechanisms she has in place.

"The littlest of things can set me off... I still have dark days now but I cope by meditating and by talking about it," she said.
