Scarlett Moffatt WILL return to Gogglebox after all

Fear not, Scarlett Moffatt fans – rumours of her Gogglebox demise are greatly exaggerated.

The Sun has revealed that the star, who’s widely tipped to win this year’s I’m A Celebrity, has NOT quit the Channel 4 show and has agreed to stay put. Phew.

In fact, TV bosses only allowed the 25-year-old star to enter the jungle on the condition that she returns to the sofa as soon as the show’s over.

Very wise.

“Gogglebox bosses are very strict on what their talent can and can’t do,” a source told The Sun. “Scarlett obviously won’t appear again on the current series because she is out in Australia.

“But rather than let her go altogether, producers allowed her to go on I’m A Celeb on the condition that she came back to Gogglebox.

“They realised they made a mistake by sacking George [Gilbey] when he went on Big Brother. Scarlett and her family are their most popular asset and they know it would be a disaster to lose her.”

Gogglebox producers famously dropped Scarlett’s co-star George when he chose to appear on Celebrity Big Brother – although he was eventually brought back to the show.

Yesterday Channel 4 sparked feverish speculation about the Geordie favourite’s future when they released a statement that seemed to suggest she was on her way out for good.

“Scarlett Moffatt is going in to I’m a Celebrity and will no longer participate in this series of Gogglebox,” a spokesperson said. “The show’s producers have not had any conversations with Scarlett about leaving or returning to Gogglebox after her stint in the Jungle.

“The Moffatts have been excellent contributors to Gogglebox, and we are very grateful for all they have given to the show.”

Meanwhile, superslimmer Scarlett arrived in the jungle yesterday ahead of this year’s dose of the hit reality show.

She’s already the favourite to win, with odds of 2/1 being offered by the bookies.
