Phillip Schofield got a little sweary during an interview on This Morning yesterday (September 14).

The presenter rarely loses his rag on the show but struggled to keep his composure as he and co-host Holly Willoughby interviewed the so-called 'Wayne Rooney girl'.

Laura Simpson denied kissing the footballer and claimed that she had done nothing wrong by getting into a car with the Everton player, who was charged with drink driving that same night.

Clearly irritated by what she said, Phillip hit back by stressing that she should never have got into a car with a married man.

Laura then tried to defend herself by disagreeing and suggesting that people only cared about this particular example because Wayne is a high-profile footballer.

"If it was just a general person I don't think it would have been portrayed as this. I just tripped myself up there," she told Phillip. "I meant any general married man, if it was anybody else it wouldn't be an issue. If I got in the car with you, I don't think I'd be all over the newspapers."

However, he didn't quite agree with his guest and was quick to correct her.

Turning the air blue in the heat of the moment, the presenter snapped: "I think you probably bloody would. I think my wife would be all over you!"

Holly then interjected into the conversation and told Laura that getting into a car with any married person, regardless of their fame, was wrong.

"It wouldn't be an issue publicly but it would morally," she explained.

Phillip and his wife Stephanie Lowe have been married for 24 years and have two daughters Ruby and Molly together.

This Morning is on ITV, weekdays at 10.30am.
